LOOK || 2024 DAPC Week Celebration Presidential Proclamation No. 124 designated the third week of November as Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week.

2024 DAPC Week Celebration
This annual observance emphasizes the importance of raising awareness, promoting preventive measures, and fostering collaborative efforts among stakeholders to combat the harmful effects of illegal drugs.
The theme for this year, “Prioritizing a Health-Based Approach in Drug Use Prevention and Control,” underscores the necessity of adopting evidence-based strategies that focus on treatment, rehabilitation, reintegration, and respect for human rights. It aligns with the national government’s commitment to prioritize health-centered solutions to the drug problem and to build compassionate and sustainable drug policies.
In line with the objective of this celebration, to strengthen public awareness, inspire action, and build resilient, drug-free communities towards the country’s vision for a safer and healthier future, DILG Cotabato Province and the Provincial Government of Cotabato conducted the following activities:
DILG Cotabato Province Kick-off Ceremony for the 2024 DAPC week started off by DILG personnel taking the Pledge of Commitment to stay Drug-Free during the flag-raising ceremony last November 18, 2024 at the DILG Cotabato Provincial Office, Capitol Compound, Amas, Kidapawan City.
Moreover, 2024 DAPC Quiz bowl was also conducted of which was participated by thirty (30) DILG personnel to assess their level of awareness on Republic Act No. 9165 also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The top three (3) scorers of the said Quiz bowl will get a prize.
LGOO V Laila Sulaik also provided an Orientation on the Drug-Free Workplace Policy Seal Certification Program to the C/MLGOOs, Technical Staff, and Admin Staff of the Province.
Further, the Provincial Government of Cotabato led by the Drug-Free Workplace Committee Chairperson, Hon. Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza, MNSA, conducted a Roll-out on General Intervention on Health and Well-being Awareness (GINHAWA) to its personnel to further develop their knowledge and skills in the implementation of health programs particularly in the campaign against the use of illegal drugs.
The 2024 DAPC week recently concluded its celebration by awarding the 2024 DAPC Quiz bowl awardees during the flag-raising ceremony today, November 25, 2024, DILG Cotabato Provincial Office, Capitol Compound, Amas, Kidapawan City.
